Now let's learn more about dual device controls. Either device control bank can control the built-in clip store, animation store, CG title store, graphics store, a keyer, aux bus, countdown timer, as well as external robotic cameras, servers, streamers and recorders. Each device control bank has a PixPad of 12 PixButtons that shows the device and file-name right on the panel’s button. Also included are 4 knobs, motion controls and a display. Lastly a 3-axis joystick is shared between the two banks.

Curious to know what features Broadcast Pix favors? Today we asked our own Tony Mastantuono. See what he had to say about VOX - Voice-automated productions...
What’s your favorite Broadcast Pix option? VOX
"A great add-on to any Broadcast Pix Slate, Mica, or Granite system, VOX is truly operator optional! It allows many productions – including radio on the web, government meetings, or school lectures – to be produced without traditional staffing needs. VOX can completely automate your production, from switching inputs to moving robotic cameras to recalling specific graphics and clips. The power of Fluent Macros allows all this to happen behind the scenes. What makes VOX unique is the ability to have custom time settings geared to your type of production, making the automation transparent to the viewing audience. It allows any production to be completely automated or semi-automated, so specific tasks like moving camera presets are done automatically so the director can focus on more creative elements of the production."

Fluent Macros is a powerful memory system that takes SnapShot Memories to a whole another level. It enables a sequence of panel button pushes to be recorded and then played at the touch of a button. The best part is that Fluent Macros comes standard on all Broadcast Pix Video Control Centers.
Fluent Macros can make any novice look like a pro. Like this one with 3 PiPs in key layers, over an animated background file, plus a title file and animated logo file.
At the heart of Fluent Marcos is a file-based architecture that not only remembers button pushes and commands, but more importantly files from the Clip and Graphic store. Fluent Macros involve 2 basic processes; the Advanced Editor, to record, edit or modify an effect and a Player used to trigger pre-made effects. See Broadcast Pix’s Sales Tools for more information but first some….
General Operating Tips
- Recording a macro can start from either the Macro Editor or directly from the control panel.
- Record a macro slowly, to ensure that every step is recorded. Later they can be easily adjusted in the Macro Editor.
- You can trigger macros two ways; from the Macro Player or your control panel through the MEM device or the designed marco row (only on the 2000, 5000 & 6000 panels).
- There are 4 macro banks that when combined can hold a total of 396 possible macros.
- Only one macro may be played out at a time.
- Utilize the power of Fluent Macros to create professional transitions, or alpha wipes, or to operate the VOX system.
So learn how to create amazing effects at the push of a button with the only memory system that combines switcher moves with specific files, camera moves, and more. Fluent Marcos, only from Broadcast Pix!
Curious to know what features Broadcast Pix favors? Today we asked our own Chuck Williamson. See what he had to say about camera control...
What’s your favorite Broadcast Pix option? Camera Control
"Control of robotic cameras has never been easier – or more precise. “Thumbnail” views of camera presets makes for quick and error-free selection that cannot be achieved even with expensive dedicated camera controllers. Plus, the operator has course and fine adjustment with variable acceleration for creating the perfect shot. And with our built-in Fluent Macros, it’s never been easier to incorporate camera control into macros and automate a production."

Located on Grand Cayman, Cayman 27 serves an audience of about 55,000. The station has used its Granite Desktop Video Control Center since 2011 to produce 15 hours of local news and talk shows each week. Before Broadcast Pix, election coverage was less than ideal for Cayman 27.
“Our workflow before required information to be relayed by phone from the command center to a graphics operator – who could never type the data in quickly enough,” said April Cummings, news director. “In addition, the reporter on scene was busy doing live shots and couldn’t preview the information before it hit air.”
To cover the country’s July 2012 referendum on single-member constituencies (one man, one vote), which ultimately failed, Cayman 27 created a special table on the backend of its Web site, where the reporter on the scene input election data. Back at the station, a small Java program downloaded the .XML file, which was linked to Fluent Rapid CG 2, an option for Granite and Mica systems that streamlines the creation of data-intensive CG graphics by automatically integrating databases, RSS feeds, and custom actions like scorekeeping into templates.
“Every minute, the program checked for new data and updated it immediately,” Cummings explained. “It minimized errors, increased our confidence, and kept viewers up to date in a way that has never occurred on our local TV before. Our new approach even linked to our Web site, so the banner at the top of the page had the latest on turnout and the results as they came in. Our information was on screen before the elections office even had it on their Web site.”
How have you used Fluent Rapid CG2 in your production?
